The federal government has placed two senior leaders of the Lyari-based banned Peoples Aman Committee (PAC), Uzair Baloch and Zafar Baloch on the Exit control List (ECL), sources in the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
According to a notification issued by the Interior Ministry, Uzair Baloch s/o Faiz Mohammad and Zafar Baloch s/o Muhammad Ali have been put on the ECL. Both are key members of the proscribed Peoples Aman Committee being patronized by former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza.
The Home Department of Sindh province had banned the Peoples Aman Committee, declaring it terrorist organization under the Anti-Terrorism Act on October 10 last year. A notification issued by the provincial interior ministry prohibited the “committee’ for all its activities.
Dr. Zulfikar Mirza had announced to revive the Committee as he challenged the Interior Minister Rehman Malik to visit Lyari and ban the committee. The notification had said that Sindh government has solid proof that Peoples Aman Committee had been involved in terrorist activities. According to the notification, the committee was declared outfit organization under article 11/B of Anti-Terrorism Act. The Committee was banned to pursue any political/social activities at all.
