Pakistan Muslim League President Senator Shujat Hussain has said that the army is not keen to come into power despite prevailing crisis. He was replying to questions from reporters after offering condolences with senior journalist Ghulam Hussain over the demise of his father on Sunday.
He said that despite a stay order, he recognised Shahbaz Sharif as the Punjab chief minister. He said if the rulers of Punjab claim to implement the orders of the judiciary then they should hold local bodies at the earliest in the province which would expose their popularity and know where PML-N stands in the eyes of the people. Hussain said those demanding early general election should know that the election would be held when they were due and for the time being, they should make preparations for the local polls. Replying to a question, the PML president said that if his formula was implemented, power outages would end. In reply to another question, Hussain said those demanding resignation of the prime minister should wait for detailed judgment of the Supreme Court. He said those talking about long march should know that their long march would prove short march and would not even cross the Ravi bridge.
Separately, Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and senior Federal Minister Ch Parvez Elahi have said that they would press for increase in the salaries of the government servants in particular pension of the widows in the budget for next financial year.
They were talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA).
Members of the delegation described the attitude of the rulers of Punjab as anti-employees and said instead of considering their problems and demands, the provincial government threatened them.

  1. Our army, under kiayani's leadership, is not even competent. A 600,000 strong army could not stop 28 soldiers from entering (invading) and killing Pakistani citizens less than one kilometer from the one and only Military Acedemy of Pakistan. If they couldn't control 28 people, it would be ludicrous to expect them to be able to control a population of 180 million people. Something kiayani should be thinking about before he accepts another extension. Under a different commander, it would be a different story!!!
