The Urdu language is Pakistan’s greatest asset. Unfortunately, our national language has been discredited by the majority of the Pakistani citizens. The primary reason, what has helped the most in the sidelining of this artistic mother tongue has been the intervention of the English language in our daily life. We seem to think in Urdu, but speak in English. It would absolutely be worth mentioning the compulsion of foreign languages in schools. This has affected the national language badly.
The national languages of developed countries like China, Japan, South Korea, and Germany, have been the bases of their vast development. Unlike Pakistan, foreign languages in these countries have never been synchronised with their office work, business, etc.
There shouldn’t be any rejection to the fact that Pakistan can rule out all other nations in terms of development. This can surely be possible if the Pakistanis are given a chance to think in Urdu and speak in Urdu without any feeling of embarrassment. This is surely the gate to the country’s success.
