One UC of Rawalpindi being cleaned daily

One Union Council (UC) in each constituency of four MPAs of Rawalpindi city is being cleaned everyday in a bid to make the town, model city under a week long cleanliness campaign launched on April 26. The cleanliness drive was started in the city on the special directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Imdad Ullah Bosal which is going on in full swing. The campaign is directly being supervised by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar. Malik Ghulam Raza, Member Provincial Assembly visited Union Council 32, Sarfraz Road Amarpura. Executive District Officer (EDO) Municipal Services Imtiaz Ahmed Malik and District Officer (DO) Solid Waste Dr. Mazhar Azeem were also present on this occasion. During his visit he urged the citizens to come forward to help the city district government so that the set target could be achieved and the campaign could be made a success. The residents of the area hailed the performance of Solid Waste Department saying that such efforts should be made regularly. Later Member National Assembly (MNA) Malik Shakeel Awan visited Union Council 39, Arya Mohallah, Waris Khan and Bhabra Bazar along with Maqbool Ahmed Khan Deputy Administrator Market Committee and termed the work and performance of the officials of Solid Waste Department satisfactory. Raja Mohammad Hanif, MPA, also visited Union Council 22 Dhoke Kala Khan and reviewed the cleanliness work being done by sanitary staff under this campaign. In Union Council 8 Fauji Colony, Coordinator PP-11 Sardar Tariq supervised the drive. Later, Commissioner Rawalpindi Imdad Ullah Bosal carried out a comprehensive visit of different union councils along with DCO Saqib Zafar to review the cleanliness work done so far under this drive. He directed EDO Municipal Services that no stone should be left unturned to make this campaign a success.
