Imran urges Gilani to immediately cede office

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that Yousaf Raza Gilani was no longer a prime minister and he should immediately step down from his post.
Speaking to media on Saturday, Khan reiterated that nobody could remain the prime minister after being convicted by a court of law.
“Those who are busy supporting Gilani are afraid of being convicted too for their deeds,” he said. “They know it would be their turn after Zardari.”
Khan on Thursday dubbed Gilani’s conviction in contempt case a gift by an independent judiciary. The PTI chairman called upon the PM to immediately step down. He claimed that he would arrange massive show in Islamabad in response to PPP demonstrations against the SC ruling. “I challenge the PPP, take as many people as you can to the streets against the Supreme Court, then I will show you how massive a rally you arranged,” Khan added.
He said he would show the rulers what the people’s will was. The PTI chief said that the government had nothing to do with the people as it was busy in making fortune. Imran Khan said the government was hiding corruption in the name of democracy. Meanwhile, Khan made former foreign minister Khursheed Kasuri his adviser on foreign affairs. Besides being an adviser to the PTI chairman, Kasuri will also chair the PTI Kashmir committee.
