PML-Q President Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that the Army is no more interested in grabbing the power from democratic government.
Replying to questions during his media interaction on Sunday, he said that despite a stay order, he recognized Shahbaz Sharif as the Punjab Chief Minister.
He said, “If the rulers of Punjab claim to implement the orders of the judiciary then they should hold local bodies at the earliest in the province which would expose their popularity and know where PML (N) stands in the eyes of the people.”
In reply to another question, Ch Shujat Hussain said that those demanding resignation of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani should wait for detailed judgment of the Supreme Court, adding that it had not been written in the apex court’s order anywhere that the Prime Minister stood disqualified.
He said those talking about long march should know that their long march would prove short march and they could not even cross the Ravi bridge.
Chaudhry Shujaat said those demanding early general election should know that the election would be held on time while for the time being, they should make preparations for the local polls.
“The Punjab may feed our chicks to any extent but they would return to their real party,” he said.

  1. Under kiyani's leadership, the army has failed to protect the borders of the country or to defend it from internal or external threats. If they can't even do the job they are paid to do, it would be stupid to expect them to take on much higher responsibilities. The reason for army not neing interested in power games is because of the incompetent leadership of kiayani. Wait untill a real general becomes the army chief and see how quickly things would change.

  2. Well gen kiyani is a very patient person and he does want democraycy to prevail. If he takes unilateral action against attacks from across the western borders he would be going against the Godforsaken constitution of Pakistan. Though it may be in accordance with islam. I think the messed masses of Pakistan deserve democracy and die democratic death.

  3. Looks like the situation is so messed up that no one likes to be in power. All working well for Gilani

  4. Democracy in Pakistan has failed to deliver as it has yet again. I do not understand why we are persistent to be a democracy, when it is not working for us. China is the fastest growing economy in the world Anne challenging USA today they have no democracy and yet they are the biggest in terms of trade surplus.

  5. Bring back dictatorship!!! We have always been much better off under a dictator than the democratic thieves. Put emotions aside. Just look at the facts. Everytime we have had a dictator, the lives of ordinary people have improved. Everytime we have had democracy, we have had nothing but misery.

      • Is that your answer Mr. AzeemJan? I am flattered that you read my comments with great interest but unless you can respond with some intellect and sound reasoning, please don't make a fool of yourself in public 🙂 I would be more than happy to debate my views with you but you would need to, atleast, make sense.
