Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday alleged that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif was involved in money laundering.
Addressing a news conference ‚ he said proof against Nawaz would be placed before the Supreme Court and National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Malik said a commission may be formed to investigate the alleged involvement of Nawaz in money laundering.
He further alleged that Nawaz signed an NRO with former president, late Farooq Ahmed Leghari and as a result the elected government of Benazir Bhutto’s was unconstitutionally dismissed in November 1996. Malik alleged that Nawaz was a defaulter of Rs 6 billion and signed an NRO with Farooq Leghari when investigation was initiated in this regard. He asked the PML-N chief to reveal from where he had got $32 million. Malik added that Nawaz signed the second NRO with Pervez Musharraf and went abroad after signing an agreement and violated the Charter of Democracy (COD) he signed with Benazir Bhutto in year 2006. He said he would bring evidences against Nawaz in parliament as well. Malik added that the president, prime minister, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and senior authorities of the Pakistan Army were on the hit list of terrorists. Talking to reporters after attending a high-level meeting at the Interior Ministry on law and order in Gilgit-Baltistan with the GB chief minister, he said different sort of solutions and suggestions were taken into account to curb the insurgency in GB. Curfew was removed after the clearance of intelligence.
About the cooperation provided by armed forces, he said, “I am thankful to army chief General Ashfaq Kayani for equipping the security personnel. Now, situation in GB is quite favorable for any kind of positive activity.” People who are under the custody of law and enforcement agencies would be freed if not found guilty, he said. “Terrorist would be tackled with iron hands. Flight schedule to Gilgit has been revised and the three extra flights have been induced to facilitate the people.” Asked about the causes behind the current insurgency in GB, he said the situation was going to improve in the next few days. There are, he added, foreign hand and agencies involved in all these riots. “These are the agents, which are responsible for the bloodshed in Balochistan now they want to spread their activities to the rest of country.” He said during his meeting with the Indian delegation n appeal was made to release Sarabjeet Singh and “we told the Indians to ask for appeal in written and their request would be considered as per the law”. He said a peaceful Afghanistan was in the interest of both of the countries. “The Haqqani network is operating from Afghanistan,” Malik said.
Meanwhile, PML-N leader Pervaiz Rasheed asked Rehman Malik to approach the courts if he had any evidence against Nawaz Sharif.

  1. Being the chief law enforcement officer of the country, why has rehman malik not taken any action and filed a case against the sharif family on corruption charges? If he has known about it and has proof then not filing a case against them makes rehman malik just as guilty. He says bb stoped him for revealing the corruption. Why? Was is because she was just as corrupt and did not want to draw attention to her own corruption?

  2. I hope & pray these two parties kill each other. Please shoot, burn & skin each other alive.

  3. MR, Malik you are in government. Why dont initiate case against Sharif brothers. In stead of announcing in public, register a case witth all the evidence. We have been hearing this for very long. Get up your ass and take action

    • Mr.do not praise the activities of your father.Think about ZAB who broke Pakistan in 1971 Have you forgotten that tradegy? Who raised the dirty slogan of ROTI KAPRA AUR MAKAN.And snatched these basic human beings necesities that ZAB AND ITS PARTY PPP.COME AND IMPROVE YOURSELVES.

      • Don't forget when Bhutto helped releasing coward 90000 Paki army cowards who surrendered to India,ZAB is not responsible for 1971 Dhaka fall,it was PUNJABIS who were grabbing Bengali rights as they are doing now in Baluchistan,Sindh and Pukhtunistan.ZAB gave you political voice,PUNJABI FEUDALS eve did not allow you to get a Paki passport. You punjabis even dont have your political leader,NAWAZ LOHAR is a Indian refugee.

  4. Corruption at highest level in Pakistan is well known not only to Pakistani's but to the whole world. The rise of Sharif's power in politics and subsequently their becoming filthy rich by unfair means is also crystal clear. Similarly our president has earned the reputation of Mr. 10%. A simple question arises here that why did Mr. Rehman Malick didn't bring it up in the last 4 years? Was there a tacit understanding that Sharifs and Zardari will protect each other in this matter and somehow that didn't work.
Both of them are extremely corrupt, however, the difference is according to a saying in Style. PPP "Zardi" believes in 20 overs game, where as Sharif's play one day. No future for poor in this country, they are destined to get poorer by day.

  5. rehman malik and the present govt. can't seem to thank kiayani enough. I wonder why? Could it be that he has become mr. 25%? Why has gillani not dismissed rehman malik for knowing about a crime and not doing anything about it? I think the whole country knows the answer. A barber by profession, rehman malik has become a multi millionaire. How expensive can haircuts really be to make that kind of money?

  6. No use now, Mr. Malik, because (a) Its too late, (b) Never expect any single word or action against Sharif Family by the present judiciary, for obvious reasons.

  7. I am not a fan of Sharif & Co, however Rahman Malik's words dont trigger the credibility at all. He, quoting Shahbaz Sharif, a real IG of Liars.

  8. Rehman Malik is not credible person but Shareef brothers are equally bad. Both brothers are dishonest and corrupt and must be eliminated from the scene of pa politics.

Imran is the only and real hope
