Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab President and Federal Minister for Internal Affairs Imtiaz Safdar Warraich has termed the success of the PPP candidate in the by-polls held in Multan a sign of confidence of people in the party leadership.
In a statement issued on Friday, he said the masses had rejected the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz despite the use of public money and resources by the Punjab government.
He said people had been continuously expressing their confidence in the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari in almost every by-poll for the last four years.
He congratulated the people of the area and PPP candidate Usman Bhatti on winning the election and hoped the PPP would form the next government after wining the next general elections with a two-thirds majority.
Warraich said the PML-N had lost the people’s trust as the seat of PP-194 had been vacated by a PML-N candidate but the people had elected a PPP candidate which had exposed the popularity myth of the PML-N.
