  1. Kiyani has done more damage to the institition of army than any other army chief before him. He is a coward and equally resposible for the current state of affairs in Pakistan. He should be tried for treason for allowing foreign troops to enter Pakistan and kill Pakistani citizens. I would bet that after he's gone we will find out how corrupt he really was and I would not be surprised if he moves to America after his retirement.

  2. Its all in self preservation. Every move he makes is to make sure of his own survival because even the army is getting fed up with this coward. A treason charge on him would be appropriate. He took an oath to defend the country from enemies, both external and internal. He has failed miserably.

    • You belong to shameless punjabi corrupt mafia and Punjabi middle classes who always invited army in the past. You a traitor racially and must be hanged by the first lamp post.

      • Was Major General Iskandar Mirza a Punjabi?
Was General Ayoub Khan a Punjabi?
Was Gen Agha Mohd Yaya Khan a Punjabi?
Was Gen Perveez Musheraf a Punjabi?
Was President Ghulam Ishaq Khan a Punjabi?

Now please tell me who & what is a Punjabi?

But one thing is for sure, you Sir are xenophobic.

  3. My point exactly!!! kiyani was to maintain status quo. Generals who might rise up against him get posted to positions where they are not a threat to him. Looking at General Bajwa's credentials (commander 34 punjab regiment and tripple one brigade along with extensive command experience) make him a threat. He just might want to restore army to its honorable role instead of providing cover support to the corrupt govt. What better way to neutralize him than to put him in a position where he has no troops under his command. Its all part of the game. This is a dead end job for General Bajwa.

  4. ITS USUAL TRANSFER & POSTINGS IN ARMY THAT TAKE PLACE ACCORDING TO SYSTEM. I THINK WHILE BIENG CIVILIANS WE MUST NOW STOP CRITICISING OTHERS INSTITUTIONS & WE MUST NOW TRY TO MAKE STRAIGHT OUR WAY BY CORRECTING OUR MISTAKES LET THEM DO THEIR WORK THEY HAVE SOME CONTRIBUTIONS. WHICH WE CANT CLAIM.

  5. I expect any person/organization to try to bring change if they are capable of doing so and they see that the country is headed towards disaster. If the present govt. had any fear that the events in the country are pushing the country towards destruction and some outside force (army) may step in, they would be more careful in how they run the affairs of govt. Last four years have seen the country spiral out of control and headed towards disaster. I would like to avoid seeing bloodshed. Politicians are just figure heads. Beauracracy is who runs the day to day affairs of the country. Under the present govt. the beaucracy has been so corrupted (or silenced) that it would take decades to right the wrong thats been done. It is the army obligation and duty to protect the country from inside and outside threats. As long as the rulers have no fear of army stepping in (or weighing in behind closed doors), they will keep making decisions that are in their personal best interest instead of the country's best interest. The army only needs to play the role of the keeper of the promise of Paksitan. Thas all.

    • Mr. Kamran You do not think. You think just garbaget. Ur mind is full of garbage ideas. U display ur hypocritical patriotism and hate a party dominated by non-Punjabies. U hate smaller provinces' leadership and people like u were cause of dismemberment of Pakistan. People like u feared majority Bengali leaders and instituted Parity in 1956 constitution just to keep Punjabi hold on power. Pakistan is changed and days of martial law supports r gone. Therefore weep weep and produce garbage ideas in ur column only to eat them up after their failure.

  6. Totally irrelevant waste. Some philosophy being impounded here that has no bearing on any of the angles of this news item.Apparently some commentators do not have the knowledge of how some organisations function. It is always better for us to remain relevent and not start beating about the bush.

    • Postings in the army is a routine affair, specially this time of the year. WHY DO WE CREATE a havoc from routine once we do not understand the organization we are talking about?

  7. Lets analyze this on the basis of facts. Was an average Pakistani more prosperous (if you can call it that) during Musharraf's time or the present democratic regime? Did the country have more foreign reserve then or now? Was the ruppee more stable (against $) then or now? Was the rate of growth higher then or now? Was the media liberated during army dictator's time or during a democratic govt. regime? Was the head of the country more respected (internationally) then or now? The list goes on and on. My point is only this: Let the army be run by a General who would only look out for the country regardless of which party is in power. Under kiyani, the army role has been reduced to protecting the present govt. at ANY cost. If you see a crime being committed and don't do anything about it then you are as much a culprit as the person committing the crime. As far as the inner workings (and politics) of the army go, I have seen it first hand and have a very good understanding and knowledge of how things work.

    • You hv no knowledge at all and just a psudo-intellectual. You know nothing try to form opinion on raw facts and unproved blame games. U dont hv any knowledge of dynamics of politics

      • AzeemJan, please don't make a fool of yourself in public. If you have any facts to refute what I have said then I'd be more than happy to listen and debate. If you are just going to make generic statements then I suggest you find your local tea shop and gossip with other people of same IQ level as yours 🙂

  8. Does anybody realize how many careers were ended/destroyed because of one person, kiyani, taking an extension in his position?

  9. I wouldn't even hire kiayani as a chokidar. He would sell out. What a disgrace to the noble profession of armed services. The list of his failures would be enough for a self respecting General to commit suicide. But not this bas*ard.
