Lane violations by public service vehicles and motorists have become a growing threat to road users on the eight-kilometer stretch of Islamabad Expressway between Faizabad and Airport Chowk.
Lane dividers have been placed on the five-lane Expressway marking the two left lanes for public service vehicles and heavy vehicles while the other three lanes are for car drivers. The purpose to divide lanes was to avoid accidents and ensure smooth flow of traffic but this lane marking is being exploited by the drivers of public service vehicles and the motorists.
While the motorcyclists who are directed by traffic police to use extreme left lane have also to face problems because of lane violations by road users. It has been observed that public service vehicles repeatedly violate and jump from one lane to another lane especially after seeing the passengers.
The situation becomes all the more troublesome during the peak rush hours when people and students go to their work places and schools.
The road users have urged the authorities to come up with some mechanism for creating traffic awareness or at least stop the lane violation on Expressway.

The vendors, whether sitting in the corner of a street or in big markets, are frying ‘samosas’, ‘pakoras’, fish, ‘chappal kabab’, French fries and ‘jalebis’ in substandard oil and using it again and again for many days.
The number of stalls and vendors selling these edibles also increases in markets and streets of different sectors including G-6, G-7, G-8, G-9, G-10, F-8, F-10, I-9 and I-10. Almost every bakery and sweet shop starts selling such items outside their shops to meet the demand of customers.
