The delegation of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) met the Punjab Chief Minister Special Assistant for Health Khawaja Salman Rafique and the Secretary Health Punjab Arif Nadeem on Thursday to discuss various issues regarding doctors.
The delegation led by its president Dr Muhammad Tanveer Anwar met top health officials at the committee room of the civil secretariat. The delegation comprised of Dr Izhar Ahmed, Dr Abrar Ashraf, Dr Ehsan ur Rehman, Dr Salman Kazmi, Dr Muhammad Saeed, Dr Farhat Naz, Dr Sabahat Habib, Dr Riaz Zulqurnain. The delegation of PMA apprised the secretary about the issues of regular services structure of doctors, demand of pay raise for doctors, issue of promotions in higher grades including grade 21, appointment of 700 senior registrars and district specialist on regular basis, appointments of vice chancellors and principals in the Punjab health department and computerisation of the record of the Punjab health department.
Khawaja Salman Rafiq and Secretary Health assured the delegation that all the record of health department will be computerised within the next 3 months, all the appointments of principals/ vice chancellors in various medical institutions of Punjab will be done on the basis of seniority cum fitness, the issues of the promotions of doctors will be resolved on top priority basis, the promotion in grade 21 will also be done on seniority, the issues of the pay raise and the service structure of doctors will also be resolved, regarding the regularisation of the 700 senior registrars and specialists the secretary health assured that the meeting of promotion committee made on the issue will be done in this week. Secretary health assured the doctors that in future the stack holder will be taken in confidence on all of upcoming issues in Punjab Health Department.
