Larry Thompson, producer of Lindsay Lohan’s upcoming biopic ‘Liz and Dick’, thinks that the actress ‘may be the most insured actress that ever walked on a soundstage’. This week, Lohan signed on to star in Lifetime’s new film about Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton’s turbulent, ten-year relationship. Thompson asserted that he is confident that the troubled 25-year-old is more than capable of stepping up to the plate to play the icon. Lindsay has a noble purpose,” Us weekly quoted Thompson as telling E! News. “It’s not like she’s going to do a little job-the responsibility of playing Elizabeth Taylor is large.”
“Lindsay Lohan may be the most insured actress that ever walked on a soundstage,” Thompson added. Lohan is ready for another comeback, and she doesn’t care what the haters think. Critics-most notably Rosie O’Donnell-have questioned her ability to portray the late Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming Lifetime TV biopic. Lohan lashed back at O’Donnell. “It’s funny that someone you don’t know at all can say something so intrusive and so knowing,” she said. So what would Lindsay like to say to her detractor?
“I don’t think I need to tell her anything,” the 25-year-old starlet said. “I know that I’m great. I know that I know Liz Taylor very well, and I share the same makeup artist and the same hair stylist. We’ve worked with a lot of the same people.” For her part, the actress feels “lucky to be able to do this role” and wants “to honour (Elizabeth) the way that she should be honoured because she helped a lot of people in her life.” As for Lindsay’s onscreen love interest? She said she has someone in mind to play Richard Burton, but she doesn’t want to jinx it. When one reporter suggested Gerard Butler for the role, Lindsay mused, “I don’t know if he would do that, but he actually does remind me of Richard a lot.”
