Federal Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar Thursday said an intra-court appeal will be filed against the verdict of the Supreme Court (SC) against the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
It should be mentioned here that the apex court today convicted the PM Gilani on contempt charge and sentenced him with the confinement of the shortest length i.e. 30 seconds till the rising of the court.
It is pertinent to note here that the court sought the government, in its ruling of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) case, to write the letter to Swiss authorities to reopen the graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari. However, the government, avoiding the court orders for over two years, did not write the requisite letter.
On this persistent avoidance of the court orders, the PM Gilani was issued notice regarding contempt of court.
Naveed Qamar said the decision regarding filing of the appeal will be made in consultation with the legal experts.
Convicted ! justice is done….PM does not hv the moral ground to continue ( resignation is not in our culture )…..lekin hum behis hain….no shame ! hamara zameer mar chuka hei….think ! what impression the world has about the PM & the President of this country ?
Are you talking of morals values !!! – hay man where were you when our respected Lordship – Chief Justice of Pakistan (Iftikhar Chaudhary) could have set a better example of high morals by resigning immediately after he was restored by none other than PM Gilani – though he was dismissed from his court no.1 – not forget he was the Chief Justice who took OATH on Quran to a PCO of General Musharaf. – What Morals are you talking about Mr.Ishrat – think deeply before you throw stone on others.
