Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Shumaila Rana, who was allegedly involved in a credit card scandal, has rejoined the Punjab Provincial Assembly on a reserved seat. She had to resign from the provincial assembly seat in 2009, when one of her female friends accused her of stealing and using her credit card. On Tuesday, the Election Commission of Pakistan declared Shumaila as a returned candidate on a seat reserved for provincial assembly of Punjab.
A senior official of the ECP told Pakistan Today that Shumaila had resigned from her seat in 2009 after the credit card scandal. Later, a court had cleared her of the charges. Meanwhile, the ECP also declared PML-N candidates Shaheen Shafiq and Seema Mohiuddin Jameeli returned candidates on seats reserved for women in the National Assembly. These two seats were vacated by Mamoona Hashmi and Nuzhat Amir Sadiq.
