Korean corporate sector and businessmen are establishing their business chains across the world, including Pakistan, and these franchises need skilled Korean speaking locals to run their businesses.
This was stated by Korean Ambassador Choong Joo Choi on the occasion of 6th Korean speech contest arranged by the Korean Language Department at National University of Modern Languages (NUML) here on Tuesday. Choong said it was a commendable initiative by the department as it would not only help the students to make themselves proficient in a foreign language but also market their skills in a language which offers very lucrative jobs in corporate, technological, automobile, communication, construction and many other sectors. He said Pakistani students would have a lot of job opportunities.
He also told the students that besides some future prospects, the language learning also helps in promoting bilateral ties between the countries and facilitates people-to-people interaction. No other than these students of Korean language can be better ambassadors of their native country in Korea and perform the role of a bridge between these two countries.
“The Korean government and its embassy are grateful to the NUML for taking such a tremendous diplomatic initiative and lending its hand for the promotion of Korean language and culture in this part of the world,” he added.
The ambassador also appreciated the level and proficiency of the students at the 6th Korean speech contest, saying that it reflects the hard work and perseverance of the teachers. Ambassador Choong, NUML Rector Maj-Gen (retd) Masood Hassan gave away prizes to winning students. The first prize of Rs 10,000 as well as certificate of excellence was won by Aman Ullah, second prize of Rs 6,000 and certificate of excellence by Hafiz Waseem Iqbal and third prize of Rs 5,000 and certificate of excellence by two students, Nisar Ali and Farman Ali.
