The Health Directorate of Capital the Development Authority (CDA) held capacity-building training of around 100 teachers under its efforts to avert threat of dengue fever in the capital.
Around 100 teachers from 6O schools both of rural and urban areas of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) were imparted training on various themes including dengue spread, its symptoms and precautionary measures.
Talking to APP, Health Director Dr Hasan Orooj said the training session was arranged in collaboration with training wing of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).
The awareness material including pamphlets and brochures about the dengue virus were distributed among ten groups comprising ten teachers each, giving them complete information about this virus, he said.
The health directorate is also involving students and a check list has already been distributed among school children to check breeding places for dengue including vases, buckets, used tyres, water jars, tins, bottles, boxes, clay pots and water containers at their own and three other homes in their locality.
