Three killed in Karachi violence, target killer among 38 arrested

At least four people were killed and several others injured as targeted killing continued in Karachi on Monday, as police arrested more than 38 suspects, including a target killer, during targeted operations in various areas of city. According to police, armed men gunned down an unidentified man in Orangi Town Sector VII and fled. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where identity of the deceased could not be confirmed. A person was killed and two others injured in firing by assailants in Usmanabad area of Garden and Mouchko area of Baldia. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment.
Police also recovered a body from a house in New Karachi. In various search raids, police arrested 12 suspects from Hassan Square and its adjoining areas. At least four people were nabbed during a targeted search operation in parts of Korangi and Landhi. Police also arrested six suspects from Gulsha-e-Iqbal. Fifteen people were arrested during search operations in Orangi Town, Kharadar, New Karachi, Federal B Area and Eidgah areas. Also, police conducted a raid in Bilal Colony on a tip off and arrested an alleged target killer identified as Zahid and recovered arms from his possession. The detainee has admitted involvement in targeted killings of more than 10 persons and other crimes in preliminary interrogation.
