Robbers walk away with Rs 15 million, over 50 tolas gold!

Robbers robbed valuables including gold ornaments, wrist watches and cash worth millions of rupees in three major robberies in different areas of the provincial capital on Monday. Robbers also tortured a family for offering resistance during a house robbery in Defence area. Per details, four armed robbers forced their entry in a house of one Muhammad Waqar, a resident of R-Block, Defence and thrashed the residents, including women and children. The robbers remained in the house for more than 20 minutes and collected gold and diamond sets, wrist watches, prize bonds worth Rs 500,000 and Rs 500,000 in cash. The robbers then took off with valuables worth more than Rs 10 million. Victim Muhammad Waqar told the police that the robbers had been keeping an eye on their activities for the last five months and were aware of his son’s marriage. In another incident, robbers robbed gold ornaments weighing 1.5 kg and worth about Rs 5 million in from a jewellery shop located in Main Bazaar, Township earlier in the day. Muhammad Waseem, an owner of Abbas Jeweller, told the reporters that three armed robbers riding a motorbike entered his shop and robbed it at gun point. The robbers took Rs 15,000 in cash and gold ornaments weighing about 1.5 kg. He claimed that the police were informed immediately but the policemen took half an hour to reach the scene which allowed the robbers to escape. Waseem said the robbers could have been nabbed easily if the police had not been so reckless. In another incident, five armed robbers robbed gold ornaments weighing about 50 tolas from a jewellery shop located in Ganj Bazaar, Mughalpura. They barged into Memoona Jewellery Shop in Mughalpura earlier in the morning on Monday. They collected cash and jewellery from the shop worth millions of rupees and managed to escape from the scene.
