A stern announcement by legislators of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Monday led to the postponement of a meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence.
The PML-N members of the body had announced to strongly protest against showing favours to operators of Bhoja airlines.
The meeting of the body was postponed by its chairperson Dr Azra Afzal Pacheo. Shiekh Rohail Asghar, a PML-N member, termed the move a sign of havoc on part of the government and said the entire nation wanted to know the reality behind the Bhoja air crash. He regretted that the government was not serious in making the facts public and said that the inclusion of PCO judges and former Motorway IG had made the judicial commission controversial. Asghar said the government was trying to hide its involvement in the tragic incident, which was the reason it had adopted a shabby recourse. Meanwhile, PML-N members of the NA started consultations for moving a requisition for assembly session; however, it could be submitted after getting a final nod from Leader of Opposition in NA Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
