A young, newlywed couple committed suicide after swallowing poisonous pills over domestic issues in the Shafiq Abad Police vicinity on Monday. The deceased were identified as 25-year-old Ameer Ghufran Khan and 24-year-old Munaza Ameer, residents of Street Number 2, Shafiq Abad Area. Per details Ameer and Munaza had contracted love marriage about six months ago. Their parents refused to accept their marriage due to which both were living alone. Couple of weeks ago both exchanged hot words with each other after which Munaza returned to her parent’s home. A few days ago, Ameer contacted her and both of them agreed to live together again. On Monday the couple got involved in clash with each other over reasons best known to them after which they swallowed poisonous pills and fell unconscious. Ameer had called his parents to inform them that they had swallowed the poisonous pills, after which his family reached his house and took the couple to Mayo Hospital, where they were declared dead. DSP Shafiq Abad Kamran Zaman while talking to reporters at the Mayo Hospital morgue said the couple had contracted love marriage and an investigation was underway to determine if the deaths were suicide or murder. Ameer’s father, while talking to reporters outside the Mayo Hospital said the family was not aware of the reason behind the suicide. He said his son had called him on his mobile number after swallowing the poisonous pills. He said his son had left all his blood relations just to marry Munaza.
