The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has on Monday hinted that it is unlikely that Bangladesh will tour Pakistan now even if the Dhaka Court gives the go-ahead after four weeks because of other international commitments. According to reports, a spokesman for the BCB said that the decision not to tour Pakistan is not part of a conspiracy. He further added that the BCB was still waiting for a copy of the stay order from the Dhaka High Court. Bangladesh were scheduled to play one ODI and one Twenty20 in Lahore at the end of April. The tour was postponed due to security concerns and because Pakistan had failed to submit a security plan to the ICC. Had the tour gone ahead, Bangladesh would have been the first international team to tour Pakistan in three years. The spokesperson also said the notion that BCB’s lawyer had not defended the tour to Pakistan in the hearing at the Dhaka High Court was untrue. He added that it was not fair that Bangladesh should go to Pakistan amid security concerns when it was playing “home series” with other teams on neutral venues.
