After the disastrous air clash of Bhoja Airlines in Islamabad, common passengers in Pakistan are scared of air travel and are seemed to be inclined to prefer journey by train or by bus.
According to a report of BBC, the plane crash on Friday has forced people to prefer train or bus to travel rather than the risky aircrafts. People feel secure while traveling by road despite the pathetic economical and infrastructural conditions of Pakistan Railway (PR).
The chief executive officer of the only private business train in Pakistan said that after the consecutive tragedies, 10 to 15 per cent increase in the number of passengers was seen in last couple of days.
Passengers at a bus terminal in Lahore said that they would not travel by air even if it was offered for free.
Asad Ali, a passenger on a bus terminal in Lahore going to Peshawar, said that private airlines had put the lives of the people on stake and he was frightened to even hear the name of any airline.
PIA General Manager Syed Sultan Hasan, talking to BBC, claimed that Pakistan International Airline was safer as compared to private airlines.
Justifying the safety of PIA he said, “Pakistan International Airline has obtained Airworthiness certificate from Civil Aviation Authority and is declared safe for air trafficking. Almost 16,000 people travel with PIA daily. People consider PIA a trustworthy national airline and there is a definite increase in passengers after private airline crash.”
