ERRA chairman gives away donor’s money to staff

The Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) chairman has distributed hefty foreign aid among his blue-eyed officers and staff. The people affected by the 2005 earthquake could not get the second installment of the aid. Online has documentary evidence which shows that ERRA Chairman Hamid Yar Haraj has distributed Rs 176 million as honorarium among the 173 officers and employees who are working in the department on deputation and also are in his good books. The amount was donated by friendly countries to help the earthquake-hit people.
According to the documents, the ERRA has distributed this amount for non developmental budget.
In addition to this amount, an honorarium of Rs 3.4 million was also given out to the employees from the developmental budget of ERRA.
Sources said the chairman had ordered to issue the said amount without approval of board.
