Propaganda against MQM of highest order: Altaf

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is the only party in the country against which racist propaganda was spread in the highest degree to keep the people away from its revolutionary ideology and philosophy, said MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
In a statement issued on Friday, he said that different slogans are being raised in the country which is natural if a popular political party is subjected to the worst form of prejudice and discrimination.
Hussain said that national awards are given each year to the people who show outstanding performance in their fields of work, but the MQM representatives are prejudiced against and ignored.
He said that former Karachi nazim was included in the list of three best mayors in the world by a board comprising highly qualified people, but it was the height of discrimination that no reception, lunch or dinner was given in his honour by the government for bringing glory and fame to Pakistan.
The MQM chief regretted that the people preparing the list of names for awarding the national awards could not see the face of Mustafa Kamal because “their eyes are blind with prejudice”.
He complimented the impartial anchor persons who took interviews of Kamal and praised him for his efforts. “Most media houses chose not to honour the former Karachi nazim for his achievements,” he added.
Hussain said that Kamal was praised for his works by even the Chief Justice of Pakistan and other honourable judges of the Supreme Court, but most of the writers could not come up with even a few words of praise for him.
He said that Governor Ishratul Ebad was the longest serving governor in the country, and everyone was happy with his performance but he was also deprived of national honours.
Hussain said the MQM had a majority in the Sindh Assembly in 1997, but the office of the chief minister was denied to the party on one pretext or another. “Is this not a flagrant act of prejudice and discrimination,” he questioned.
The MQM chief said that if the prejudicial treatment continues unabated and with undiminished intensity, then what could possibly happen in the country other than “slogans of different types being raised by the people”.
