Dengue patient dies in Peshawar

The killer dengue virus has returned to endanger the lives of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as the first death due to the deadly virus was reported here in Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) on Saturday.
According to details, Naik Niaz, 30, hailing from Upper Dir, was shifted to LRH a few days due to high fever. The doctors, over suspicion, sent blood samples of the patient to National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad which confirmed that the individual was suffering from dengue.
After confirmation of dengue virus, the patient was shifted to isolation ward where he died during treatment.
The citizens of various districts of KP have expressed concern over the precautionary measures and steps taken by the provincial health department to avoid the spread of dengue virus.
