The female students who showed extra ordinary performance during the 24th annual cultural week of International Islamic University, received prizes at a colourful ceremony held on Friday.
Addressing the concluding ceremony, Ambassador of Bangladesh in Pakistan, Suhrab Hussain said that the students both male and female of IIU did really hard work to exhibit the cultures of various Islamic Countries during 24th cultural week.
He said that students are the ambassadors of countries wherever they are getting education and creates honor for their countries. Regarding students exchange programme, Suhrab Hussain added that both Pakistan and Bangladesh need to exchange students to expand the bilateral relations and develop understanding about each other. Wife of Saudi Ambassador said that the cultural activities are part of Islamic Culture and civilization and female students of IIUI enormously exhibited this event.
She said that I am very pleased to represent my country here with the message of respect to others, peace and harmony. Such kind of international cultural activities play important role to brought together minds of the muslims to develop brotherhood relations between them. She hoped that IIUI will continue to celebrate such cultural activities in future. Rector IIU, Prof Fateh Muhammad Malik said that the projection of Islamic civilization is a good thing to do because these activities are useful the progress of Islam. He added that Muslims students are sons and daughters of the nation and they have successfully represented Islamic values, traditions and culture which is appreciable.
Earlier, President IIU, Prof Dr Mumtaz Ahmad welcomed the distinguish guests and said that after visiting various stalls at the cultural exhibition I will boldly say that Islam is not only the religion of peace but also foods, dresses, architecture and culture. He said that today Pakistanis are seems depressed people but this cultural exhibition proved that we have the passion to remain happy and prosper in the prevailing circumstances of our country.
At the end ambassador of Bangladesh Suhrab Hussain, High Commissioner of Kenya Mishi Mashika, Wife of Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Prof. Fateh Muhammad Malik, Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad and Prof. Dr. Sahibzada Sajid ur Rehman awarded certificates and prizes to the female students who demonstrated outstanding performance during cultural activities.
