Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif again stressed the government to take the initiative for resolution of Siachen problem.
He said this at a press conference at Jatti Umrah in Raiwind on the occasion of former federal minister Tariq Azeem’s joining the PML-N.
Nawaz insisted that his viewpoint on the Siachen problem was not different from Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Kayani. “When Pakistani and India will sit down to resolve the problem, the issue would be resolved,” he said, adding: “From my experience I can judge that India is also willing to resolve the issue.”
Nawaz expressed grave concern over the deteriorating situation in Karachi, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan. He said the law enforcement agencies had failed to control the situation in these areas. He said not a single person involved in targeted killings in Karachi, Balochistan or Gilgit-Baltistan had been arrested so far. He said the rulers did not implement the decision of the Supreme Court regarding targeted killings in Karachi.
The PML-N chief lamented that the prime minister had no time to visit Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan to improve the law and order there. He said the government was not fulfilling its responsibilities and merit was invisible.
Nawaz added that the government, police and administration were equally responsible for the worsening situation in Karachi because the political parties did not want to touch each other’s men.

  1. just point scoring, he is trying to be man of peace subservant to India and US should consider and trust him as their next poodle in Pakistan

  2. No it is not point scoring but a genuine effort to expand his business eastwards. He cannot think beyond self and perhaps family. For this statement he should be made to stand on the bench along with those who support such silly unilaterlism.

  3. BB and Rajiv Ghandhi had reached an agreement over withdrawal of troops from Siachen in 1989. Could someone remember Nawaz Shareef stance at that time? He had vehemently opposed it. Any solid reason for this big change now.

  4. Nawaz is just being a true politician, he is flip flopping like anything. Forget about making anybody else believe him, he himself wouldnt believe what he would say!!

  5. His own daughter didn't listen to his advice and slept with army officers so how does he expect the govt to listen to his advice?
