The Lahore High Court (LHC) has been moved against the appointment of new ministers in the federal cabinet.
The petitioner, Advocate Azhar Siddique, in his plea said that keeping in view the ongoing scenario, induction of new ministers in the cabinet is illogical and an additional burden on the already shaky economy.
He said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, by introducing people involved in corruption as ministers, has proved that he was not eligible for the PM slot.
Advocate Azhar pleaded that the court should declare the appointment of new ministers invalid, and disqualify the prime minister from his office.
It should be mentioned that political parties have expressed surprise and criticized the expansion in the federal cabinet at the time when general elections are round the corner. They are of the view that when the government is already facing criticism for not being able to ease the people’s burden, the induction of a fleet of ministers is unjust and illogical.
