The International Islamic University (IIUI), Islamabad, on Thursday arranged the prize-distribution ceremony for the male campus after concluding its 24th Annual Cultural Week.
Acting Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan Jasim Muhamed Khalidi was the chief guest whereas President IIUI Professor Dr Mumtaz Ahmad was the guest of honour on the occasion. Vice President IIUI Prof. Dr Sahibzada Sajid ur Rehman, Student Advisor (male) IIUI Dr Safeer Awan, faculty members and a large number of students were also present on the occasion. Jasim Muhamed Khalidi said that he is feeling very proud to represent his country here in this ceremony on behalf of the ambassador of Saudi Arabia. He said that he came here with the message of Peace and harmony for the people of Pakistan. He said that the colourful cultural exhibition has figured the message of brotherhood among the Muslim Ummah.
Dr Mumtaz Ahmad said that after visiting various stalls at the cultural exhibition “I will boldly say that Islam is not only the religion of peace but also foods, dresses, architecture and culture”. He said that “this cultural exhibition proved that we have the passion to remain happy and prosper in the prevailing circumstances of our country”. About the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Dr Mumtaz said that Saudi Arabia stood with Pakistan in good and bad times, they celebrate our success and share our grief for disasters like their support during earthquake of 2005 and floods two years back.
