Someone pay attention to the refugee women, please

Society for Human Rights and Prisoner’s Aid (SHARP) in collaboration with University of the Punjab organised a one day seminar on the topic of “ Legal and Social rights of Refugee women within Legal Frame Work of Pakistan”. The main purpose of the event was to give awareness to the students about protection of women rights in the context of existing laws of the country. The aforementioned event was inaugurated by Irfan Raza (Director SHARP) and Dr Sammer Fatima (Incharge Chairperson, DGS) with the remarks that SHARP a non-governmental organization is working as a humanitarian group with the mission “To strive for a human rights friendly Pakistan”. Memoona Batool Khan (Field Manager SHARP) gave a brief introduction of SHARP. Sher Afgan gave a presentation on refugee rights and their legal status in the scenario of International protection. Dr. Rana Malik (Faculty Member University of the Punjab) while addressing the students stated that a state is duty bound to provide and protect the rights of women.
