Pakistan national champion Ushna Suhail has on Tuesday reached the singles pre-quarters of the international women’s tournament in Oman.
According to reports received here, Ushna is currently participating in international women’s tennis tournament an ITF Professional Circuit event being held in Muscat.
In the singles, first round, Ushna played against Vijaylakshmi of India and defeated her in straight sets 6-0 and 6-2. Ushna displayed aggressive tennis from the beginning, with powerful baseline strokes admixed with net game and good serving to overcome her opponent throughout the match.
Vijaylakshmi tried to fight back with long rallies and few winners but could not overpower the Pakistani who dominated till the end. In the next round, Ushna will face a seeded Russian player, Evgeniva Svintsova.
