Writers, poets and intellectuals fully cooperated with the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) to make the book fair a successful event.
These views were expressed by PAL Chairman Abdul Hameed while addressing the opening ceremony of the five-day National Book Fair organised by PAL.
He stated that the participation of the youth in the book fair will help to promote the reading culture.
Hameed said the participation of more than 30 publishers, NGO’s, national institutions as well as people from all spheres of life have extended their patronage to the book fair. He stated that it indicated that people still love books and that more cheap books needed to be published to target more readers.
He said a special session called ‘Author’s Corner’ was introduced in the book fair with eminent writers like Prof Ahmed Javed, Prof Anwar Masood, Iftikhar Arif, Sarfraz Shahid, Nelofar Iqbal, Naseer Ahmed Nasir, Dr Waheed Ahmed.
Sajjad Babar and Sultan Sakoon were the chief guests at the occasion.
