How about a Pakistan cricket home series on Indian soil? Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has come up with this novel idea and asked the BCCI if it will play ball.
According to sources, PCB chief Zaka Ashraf made the offer to his Indian counterpart N Srinivasan on the sidelines of the ICC meeting in Dubai last weekend.
“Ashraf told Srinivasan that Pakistan would be willing to play its future home series on Indian soil if the Indian board was ready to host it. He also said the PCB would pay for the expenses,” the sources said.
During his April 8 India visit, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari had pushed for resuming cricketing ties between the two countries.
India has avoided bilateral cricket with Pakistan since the 26/11 attacks and over security concerns.
“Such talks are on with Pakistan for a while,” BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said. “But where are the slots?”
“We would also like to resume our bilateral series,” he added.
