Pakistan Muslim League President, Senator Ch Shujat Hussain, has advised the PML ministers to take such basic and new steps in their ministries which directly benefit the people and said that he will personally be visiting their offices to monitor their performances.
He said this while visiting the Human Resources Development Ministry along with party Secretary General, Mushahid Hussain Sayed, here on Tuesday.
On arrival at the ministry, Shujat was received by Federal Minister, Ch Wajahat Hussain, Minister of State, Shaikh Waqas Akram, Coordinator of the Ministry, Zubair Khan and senior officers. PML Central Secretary Finance, Imtiaz Ranjha, Deputy Secretary Information, Mustafa Malik, Labour Wing President, Raja Imtiaz, and other party office-bearers also accompanied the PML president.
During the visit, Shujat was given a detailed briefing about working of the ministry and its various departments.
He also attended the review meeting in Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) regarding Insurance Policy for the journalists. Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Ch Wajahat Hussain, Shaikh Waqas Akram and senior officers of the ministry also attended the review meeting. Convener Council of Pakistan Press Clubs and President National Press Club, Farooq Faisal Khan, Photographers Association President, Sajjad Haider, Pakistan Video Journalists Association Secretary Finance, Muhammad Asaf, were among those who attended the meeting at the special invitation.
Shujat, on this occasion, directed that the journalist’s community, reporters, photographers and cameramen should also be included in the Insurance and Pension Scheme. He said that while the camera was insured, the man behind the camera was not. He said that such effective steps should be taken to protect journalists and workers.
He said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, the Ministry has launched the Insurance Scheme for journalists, workers, overseas Pakistanis and domestic servants.
During the briefing, Shujat was informed that the journalists insured under the scheme would be paid Rs 10 lakhs in case of demise and Rs two lakhs for any disability while treatment for all fatal injuries was ensured. Journalists attaining the age of 60 years would also be entitled to pension facility. Members of Press Clubs of Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Quetta and Islamabad would be covered by this scheme. Shujat was also apprised about different projects of the ministry which he duly appreciated and said that he would also be monitoring performance of other ministries.
“Education for All” declares Ch Parvez Elahi: Pakistan Muslim League Senior Central Leader and Senior Federal Minister, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, has said that the Youth Wing was the real power of the party. He said this while talking to a delegation of Moonis Elahi Lovers Wing Gujrat which called on him at the State Guest House here on Tuesday. He said during our tenure, Punjab had made tremendous progress and development in all sectors and the role of the Youth Wing was very important like all other wings in this development. He said we had made education along with text books free up to Matriculation in Punjab and brought 28 lakh such children in the educational institutions which were previously deprived of this education facility.
Parvez, quite pointedly, said that the manifesto of our party is “Education For All”. He advised the members of the Moonis Elahi Lovers Wing Gujrat , which was headed by its Chairman, Shahid Mahmud, to work for making the party more active in Gujrat. On this occasion, PP-110 Gujrat PML (N) former MPA, Haji Nasir’s close relative and other important office-bearers of PML (N) Youth Wing also announced to join Moonis Elahi Lovers Wing.
