Food for thought on a ‘Journey Through Europe’

Experiencing the cuisine and culture of different countries is a fantastic way to foster harmony and peace, said US Consulate Community Liaison Officer Adriana Murakami.
She was speaking at the inauguration of ‘Journey Through Europe Food Festival’ organised by the Pearl Continental hotel, where she was the chief guest.
Murakami said she found Karachi a vibrant city but is sometimes taken aback by the misapprehensions the people have here about the United States.
“Meeting people from different walks of life and holding dialogue and inter-active sessions should help understand each other’s viewpoints and reduce differences,” she added.
US Consulate Public Affairs Officer Kevin T Murakami said he found Karachi to be a lively city.
German Consulate General and Deputy Head of Mission Rolf Traut said he was posted in Karachi only three months earlier and was learning many new things as this was his first posting to a South Asian country.
Pearl Continental General Manager Azeem Qureshi said a ‘European Food Festival’ would be held every Friday and Saturday for eight weeks from 7.30pm at the Marco Polo restaurant, starting from April 13.
The hotel has made special arrangements for Karachiites to savour delectable European cuisines in an extraordinary ambiance and have an unforgettable experience. He asked food lovers not to miss out on this special festival.
