All the security agencies, military establishments, police and jail authorities were informed in advance that militants were planning an attack in Bannu and they must take adequate measures to foil their designs.
Highly placed intelligence sources told INP on Tuesday that the information was shared on January 5, 2012 but the date and time of the attack was not known.
The intelligence agencies immediately informed all concerned law enforcing agencies that terrorist commander Askari Tariq Geedar group was planning to carry out terrorist activity in Kohat and surrounding areas. It was further pointed out that the likely targets could be PAF base Kohat, Kohat Cantonment, police station Lachi and Bannu Jail to free imprisoned terrorists.
The sources further revealed that Adnan Rasheed, the main terrorist, who escaped from Bannu jail was convicted for death sentence in former President Pervez Musharraf attack case and was brought to Bannu Jail only on 25th September, 2011.
Official sources said that despite clear information that the terrorists were planning an attack at some important installation, appropriate arrangements were not put in place which speaks of utter disregard to intelligence input. It was because of this utter negligence that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) removed Commissioner Bannu, IG Jails, Deputy Superintendent Jail and DIG police from their posts on Monday.

  1. an inside job is giving militants something they need in return for something else. Exchange of services. Also, what's the point of keeping Musharaf's prospective killer when the former president himself has a red warrant against him through INTERPOL.

"Nothing is true, everything is permitted" in the land of the pure(ly opportunistic)

  2. I hope Pakistan's nuclear weapons are safe,Pakistani security agencies can't be trusted,God forbids if these terrorists access to nuclear weapons that will be a bigger disaster for whole world.
