Lahore District Coordination Officer Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has said that educational system is the back bone of any society and City District Government is taking every possible step for the betterment of education system. He said CDGL was providing missing facilities in schools on priority basis and a grant of Rs 7 crore had been released for the provision of missing facilities in schools. He directed Education EDO to take permission before assigning the field duties to the teaching staff and preferably non-teaching staff to be given field duties. He expressed these views while visiting EDO Education office and met DO’S and assistant directors of the city. He asked about their problem during duties. DCO Lahore expressed his infliction over the absence and poor performance of the teachers during December 2011 and directed the concerned officers to make ensure 100 percent attendance of teachers so that the academic process could not suffer and the liaison process at school be levelled to make more effective and more teachers should be deputed in schools situated at border and rural areas. DCO Lahore was briefed about the model schools and kids classrooms of the city and informed that Lahore was also the top city in literacy rate of Punjab.
