All we get for restoring NATO supplies is a slap: Hasan

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Munawar Hasan has said the latest statement from White House on drone attacks was a slap on face of the government and the parliament that had unanimously adopted a resolution in favour of restoring NATO supplies.
By announcing that the drone attacks would continue, the US had told the Pakistani rulers living on dollars of their actual worth and reminded them that the beggars cannot be the choosers, he said while addressing the participants of the JI central workshop at Mansoora, on Saturday.
He remarked that the US had not got the NATO supplies restored for the supply of pampers and biscuits only, and added that those expecting any good from the Americans were fools. He said if the government had implemented the resolution of the parliament, it would not have to face the shameful situation now.
He said NATO supplies were a matter of life and death and the nation would not spare any sacrifice to stop these.
Hasan said the US wanted to wipe out Islam and occupy the resources of the Muslims and deny them even the right to live. Unfortunately, the US agents were holding the country a hostage. The IMF was issuing loans to the government on the condition that they would burden the masses with more taxes and raise POL and gas prices.
Hasan expressed deep concern over the prevailing law and order situation in Syria demanding of government to play its due role in bringing to an end the killing of innocent people in Syria. He expressed his views while addressing a seminar “Solidarity with the Syrian People” held here at Mansoora. He also demanded of the Syrian government to end its cruel activities against masses. He further demanded that the Syrian government should give freedom of expression to the people. JI ameer said Iran could play a significant role to bring peace and stability in Syria and must do it.
“Iran alone can bring peace in Syria if it desired so,” he added.
He said Pakistani people could not remain disengaged with their Syrian brethren and Pakistani people strongly condemned the brutalities in Syria.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General Arif Alvi was of the view that the change in Arab countries was not a sudden and incidental but was a reaction to the atrocities of the dictatorial regimes. “The Arabs had been facing brutalities and cruelties of their rulers for 40 years and ultimately they went burst out against it,” he added.
He termed the Syrian situation a voice of democracy against prolonged dictatorship and Pakistani people were with the democracy and peace.
