LUMS Super 10’s Rugby Championship starts today (Saturday) at LUMS ground under the auspices of the Pakistan Rugby Union. In al 12 teams are participating in this two-day event from all over Pakistan. Participating teams Lahore Rugby Football Club, Govt College University Lahore, Fast University Islamabad, National United Rugby Club, Rising Sun Club, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, DHA Wild Bears, University of Management and Technology, Garrison University, Lahore University of Management and Sciences, DHA Dragon and SINDH Rugby Club. Sindh Rugby club team reached in the city today.
The tournament will be played on 10’s A-Side a format. Sec Gen Pakistan Rugby union Arif saeed chief guest on opening cermoney. The event is joint venture of the Pakistan Rugby Union and Lahore University of Management and Sciences. The Pakistan Rugby Union will officiate the tournament and will be played in Cup, Plate and Bowl categories. PRU officials President Fawzi Kawaja, secretary Arif Saeed, head coach Rizwan Malik were pleased with the quality of rugby improved in Pakistan in recent times.
