German star Angelique Kerber posted an upset win over former world number one Jelena Jankovic to advance to the final of the 2012 Barcelona Ladies Open. German Angelique Kerber overwhelmed Serbian star Jelena Jankovic to enter the finals of the 2012 e-Boks Sony Ericsson Open, a WTA international event being played here in Copenhagen, Denmark. Kerber opened the match on a competitive note and soon found her rhythm to break Jankovic’s serve in the third game. Another break followed and Kerber picked up the first set 6-2. The second set saw Kerber continue the solid form as she broke Jankovic’s serve in the very first game to eventually complete the 6-2, 6-1 win in one hour and 18minutes of play. Kerber now meets the winner of the second semifinal which will be played between Caroline Wozniacki and Petra Martic.
