Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Khushnood Akhtar Lashari on Thursday categorically denied as “false and incorrect” the contents of the affidavit submitted by Brig Fahim, Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) regional director, to the Supreme Court. In a letter addressed to Brig Fahim, the prime minister’s principal secretary mentioned his affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court in the case registered under FIR No 40/2011 dated 10-10-2011, at the ANF Police Station. Lashari said, “The impression has been given to the Honourable Supreme Court that no statement under Section 161 CrPC was made by me before the ANF. This is again incorrect as you, along-with your team of two officers have visited on four occasions, ie my office.”
“No mention of my statement under Section 161 /CrPC has been made before the honourable court. In case the Supreme Court summons me, or issues notice to me, I shall vigorously contest your assertions,” Lashari said in his letter.
He also asked Brig Fahim to communicate with him henceforth in writing, saying, “You have obviously misdirected the Honourable Supreme Court with respect to our earlier meetings.” Lashari said he was available for any further probe by the ANF, under the orders of the Supreme Court.
