Atlas Honda Cup is now at its full swing and players are striving hard to improve their national ranking in various categories . Battle was amongst players in Men’s Singles event to qualify for quarter finals . All the seeded players qualified . Yasir Khan(tournament 2nd seed) who did not look comfortable against his opponent Jibran-ul haq survived eventually. Yasir Khan who has returned from Philippines , probably not very well adjusted to grass court yet as surface during Davis Cup tie was clay.
In first set Yasir could not show his class and lost the set 1-6 just held 3rd game of the set. Late ball contact, poor return of serve clearly indicated that he was not feeling comfortable on fast grass . However , he started rallying with medium pace to adjust him and started attacking on net while finding ball in mid court area . This helped and Yasir started to grasp on match . Yasir won the 3rd set 6-2 and so the match with score line ,1-6,6-3,6-2. Aqeel Khan 1st seed of Honda won his pre quarter final match very easily and convincingly beat former Junior No1 Omer babar 6-1,and 6-2. Jalil Khan Seed 3 beat Ahmed Babar an up-coming Junior 6-3, 7-6(4). Ahmed Babar created some opportunities and converted crucial points in his favor but lost to his experienced opponent in straight sets.
