The extension plan of the US embassy in Islamabad was challenged in the Supreme Court on Thursday. A petition was filed in the Lahore Registry Branch of Supreme Court requesting the court to order Capital Development Authority (CDA) to cancel approval of the extension plan of the US embassy in the federal capital. According to the petitioner, the US embassy building could be used for spying and the extension plan would be a security risk for other sensitive buildings present in the Red Zone. Earlier, an application had already been filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
