The pleasant the weather, the greater the load shedding

After a brief relief of four days, the city once again witnessed extensive load shedding on Wednesday.
The weather was quite pleasant and power demand dropped but even then power was closed with repeated intervals. There has been relief in outages in the last four days and people were expecting that load shedding would further decrease after Energy Conference 2012, in which it was decided there would be equal load shedding in the whole country. However, the hopes of people diminished as outages remained high. The power was closed for one hour after every hour, taking the duration of load shedding to 10-12 hours. The consumers said they were hopeful that after Energy Conference, there would be significant decrease in the load shedding.
The weather in the last four days remained hot and power demand increased but even then there were fewer outages. On Wednesday when weather was pleasant due to Tuesday’s night rain and power demand decreased but even then load shedding increased.
“We were expecting that load shedding would reduce but there has been no relief for the consumers,” said a business executive Sameer Ahmed adding the load shedding had ruined routine lives.
The power production has decreased due to drop in hydel generation while generation from oil and gas also decreased thus causing long hours of outages.
