Punjab Teachers Union demands salary increases, regularisation

The Punjab Teachers Union protested for the approval of their charter of demands on Wednesday. The union members staged a demonstration in front of the Lahore Press Club to demand 100 percent raise in their salaries. The teachers asked the government to comply with the demands made in their charter of demand.
Their demands included time scale, equivalent to the teachers of the federal government and Balochistan, revision of pay scales, equal pay structure for teachers and regularisation of the contractual teachers. They demanded grade 14 for PST, grade 16 for EST, grade 17 for SST and grade 18 for head masters.

  1. Dear, Assalam-o-Alaikum

    The purpose of the Teacher's Union is to work for the welfare Teachers and to protect the Education System threating from the greedy Bureaucracy and misfit Politicians.

    The demand to increase the salary is very good. Union must struggle to achieve the demands for the welfare of Teachers.

    But Union must fight against the threat from present Government to the Education System.
    Punjab Government is forwarding step by step to end the Govt. schooling system by imposing "Anti Education" policies in Punjab.
    This Govt. is very sincere to finish the Govt. Education system from the Province in order to keep the poor public illiterate by following dirty steps :

    1- Punjab Govt. has closed thousands of schools last year working in villages towns and in remote areas where children of local poor people were studying easily. The excuse of Govt. was that these schools are lacking of proper buildings facilities. ( On other hand so called Danish schools are showered with money in billions). Instead of providing proper building facilities wisdom of Punjab Govt found an easy solution of closing these schools. What a wonderful solution found the Govt. of Punjab. (Actual aim is to destroy the Govt. schooling system).

    Many of these closed schools were being looked after by the local community in order to continue the education of their poor children. Now due to closing of these schools thousands of children have quieted education due to no school available in their community.

    2- Wisdom of Govt. of Punjab imposed English media of teaching at every level of Govt. schools. The syllabus is also adopted of English countries. It means this illiterate Govt. is not aware of the value of our own language and our own culture. This Govt. is working on "New world Order" Agenda. It means this misfit Govt. is working to change our Islamic based culture values.

    On other hand Children of primary classes how can understand English. They will remain illiterate at the end of year and ultimately they will quit their education. Teachers of this level are also not well aware of English as media of teaching. So the result will be zero and rulers will succeed to fulfill their agenda of finishing Education through Govt. schools.

    On the end why English ? Has China, Japan, Germany, France and many many other developed countries adopted English for their development ?

    These rulers are just wasting the time and money and wasting education system of Punjab.

    3- They dumped a lot of money in billions on a few Danish schools. This money must have been spent on all schools equally running under Govt then there was no need to close thousands of schools which have no propers buildings. This is called "Sikha Shahi" not the wisdom.

    4- Now this Govt. is again closing many many Primary schools in the name of close distance of Girls and Boys schools. Why ? They again has planned to destroy not only Education System but also the culture of Punjab. They want to sit girls and boys and male and female teachers together in one building. They are Begarit بے غیرت
    rulers and want to make the Nation also "Begarit".
    Thank you. I hope Teachers Union will wake up, hold the hand of Punjab Govt. to stop them to destroy the Education for poors and the culture of Punjab. Actually this rule of Punjab province is the gun in hands of monkeys.
