Member of victorious World Cup squad, Mushtaq Ahmad has emerged as a strong contender for bowling coach for national cricket team.
Mushtaq is presently working as the bowling consultant for England. There are speculations that former Pakistan leggie Mushtaq Ahmed will take over as the national team’s bowling coach ahead of next month’s tour of Sri Lanka.
Eleven applications are received for PCB’s bowling coach including Mohammad Akram, Mushtaq Ahmad, Shahid Mahboob and Jalaluddin.
PCB intends to appoint Urdu-speaking bowling coach so that he could help the two foreign coaches interact with the players.
Mushtaq has vast coaching experience and he has been attached with the national cricket squad as coach earlier. He is ready to coach bowling to Pakistani team at half the salary paid to coach England.
He also met Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman twice. According to the reports within PCB, Mushtaq is a strong contender for bowling coach of the national squad.
