The Young Doctors Association (YDA) announced to go on strike against transfers and new appointments, suspending their services in all government hospitals.
In protest against government decisions to transfer doctors associated with YDA, the medics halted indoor and outdoor services in Lahore’s government hospital, making patients suffer. However, services at emergency wards went on.
Accusing the provincial health department of corruption in transfers and postings, YDA spokesman told reporters that the association’s general council meeting has been called on Saturday to plan future course of action for Punjab in protest against transfers and appointments.

  1. In earlier 80`s the essentials services were not soppused to be chalenged and complete ban on the activities of the unions were banned. No any department dared to go on strikes.but unluckily when ppp came into power the unionisms were restored and every lallu and phatto came on strike as a result the country is on the raods of hartal strikes, jallow ghaow and thor phor started. The Central government must put ban again on the activities of all unions in the country and complete debate must restart in the parliament to discus on its implemenntation. The PM is not not entilted to play with the lives of innocent people.WE WANT COMPLETE AND IMMEDIATE BAN ON ALL ACTIVITIES OF UNIONS .
