DMA to advance agriculture production loans

On the directions of the Punjab chief minister, Disaster Management Authority Director General Mujahid Sherdil said the campaign for the disbursement of production loans for Kharif-2012 through the One Window Operation has been launched and will remain operative till July 31. He stated that a large number of people have already taken out loans under the Sada Bahar Scheme for which no documentation is required for three years. He added that the One Window Operation will be carried out every Monday through the passbook system only, for advancing production loans on 25 acres of irrigated land and 50 acres of Barani land.
He also said the maximum loan limit is Rs 20 lakhs. He stated that the MCOs will receive loan applications for input at focal points and that all the patwaris, qanoongos, tehsildars and naib tehsildars will be present on each Monday at the centres to complete the processes on the same day. He added that complaint cells will be established in the District Coordination Officers office to improve the system and to remove the grievances related to its function so that disbursements are made without any delays.
