Federal Information Minister Dr Firdous Aashiq Awan said on Monday that the nation can develop its full potential and embark upon sustained economic growth through full participation and involvement of youth in the process of policy formulation.
Addressing a seminar‚ Firdous said that the nation can develop to its full potential and embark upon the sustained economic growth through full participation and involvement of youth in the process of policy formulation. She said Pakistan is facing colossal challenges. These include terrorism‚ religious extremism‚ threat to democratic security‚ energy crisis‚ unemployment‚ drug trafficking and addiction and bad images about Pakistan in the background of events leading to 9/11 and launching of war on terrorism.
The minister said the initiative of the President is aimed at seeking input of the youth in meeting these challenges. She said the government has also embarked upon a number of programmes aimed at harnessing potential of the youth for national development.
