Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Liaquat Baloch has warned that if the rulers do not pay heed to the sufferings of masses, civil disobedience would be launched across the country and then it would not be possible for government to stop the revolution.
He was addressing a large gathering of JI activists in Akbar Chowk area of Lahore, who had staged a sit-in and held protest demonstration against increase in prices of edibles, petroleum products and other daily use items. The JI leader said President Asif Ali Zardari has enough time to visit Ajmer Sharif but could not spare time to hear the masses’ concerns. He strongly condemned the sitting Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government and its allies for negligence towards masses’ hardships and said that the country’s leadership has nothing to do with countrymen and its all concentrations were focused at protecting personal and party interests. Liaquat Baloch said that masses were fed up of the self directed policies of government and it could lead to rebellion from poverty-hit people which would abolish the rule of selfish leaders.
